What's left behind the scenes
- In 1998, Paul W.S. Anderson's science fiction action film "Soldier" was released. As in Ridley Scott's "Blade Runner" (1982), the screenplay was written by David Webb Peoples. According to him, both films take place in the same universe. In "Soldier," the genetically modified soldiers who are meant to replace Todd and others like him are replicants, as in Scott's film. The film "2036: Nexus Dawn" takes place in the time period between Scott's original film and its 2017 sequel. In it, Nexus-9 model replicants were created in 2035, the year in which Anderson's film is set.
