What's left behind the scenes
- Close-ups of Patrick usually featured a dog named Harvey. 17 pugs were used during filming, and not necessarily males.
- The vessel where Sarah and Patrick lived was found during location scouting while it was undergoing restoration. In April 2017, filmmakers restored the ship's interiors and stripped the paint from the exterior surfaces, giving it a dilapidated look as required by the script. After filming, the vessel was fully restored and repainted, even with paw prints of Patrick drawn on the deck.
