- Cousin Itt was voiced by rapper Snoop Dogg (born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr.). This character first appeared on screen in Barry Sonnenfeld’s 1991 black comedy of the same name. At that time, he was listening to the rapper under the pseudonym M.C. Hammer (born Stanley Kirk Burrell).
- Unlike previous adaptations where this character was right-handed, here Thing is portrayed as left-handed. (The only exception is the 1960s series, where this character was sometimes right-handed and sometimes left-handed).
- In this film, the family moves to Westfield, New Jersey, where comic book author and character creator Charles Addams (1912-1988) grew up.
- Oscar Isaac and Charlize Theron recorded their lines separately and did not meet during the filming of the movie.
- In 2010, it was announced that Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures had acquired the rights to adapt the Addams Family comics. - Gomez and Morticia's car license plate reads 'ЧАС 1938' (Chas 1938). 'Chas' was the nickname of comic creator Charles Addams, and he began publishing comics in a New York newspaper in 1938.
- This is the first animated film about the Addams Family in which Pugsley is voiced by a child. Previously, he was always voiced by adults.
- The dry tree at the Addams Family mansion is named Ichabod – this is a reference to Washington Irving's story "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," whose main character was named Ichabod Crane.
