What's left behind the scenes
- The film was not completed for financial reasons. At the producer's request, Victor Erice had to edit the film from the materials that were already available. As a result, the final part of the script, which takes place in the south where the main character goes after her father's suicide, was left outside the narrative. The film was successful. However, Erice long held onto the hope of finishing it.
