What's left behind the scenes

  • The copyright holder did not renew the rights to the film, so it entered the public domain, and anyone could make copies on DVD and VHS. As a result, many distorted copies of the film appeared on the market, and they were certainly not made from the original.
  • The ending here is quite different from the novel (1939), where all 10 characters perished. Agatha Christie (1890-1976) changed the ending for the theatrical production, deciding that the audience during wartime would find it too bleak.
