Short description
After David Kim's 16-year-old daughter goes missing, a local investigation is opened and a detective is assigned to the case. But 37 hours later and without a single lead, David decides to search the one place no one has looked yet, where all secrets are kept today: his daughter's laptop.
What's left behind the scenes
- Filming took 13 days, and post-production took 2 years.
- Having 7 weeks in reserve before the start of filming, director Anish Chaganty and screenwriter Sev Ohanian hired editors and shot a rough draft of the film. Chaganty himself played all the roles in it, and this "raw version" lasted 1 hour 40 minutes. Before filming began, it was shown to the actors and crew so they knew what to expect.
- For the Spanish, French, Russian, and Portuguese versions of the film, scenes showing keyboards, computer screens, telephones, or televisions were filmed with inscriptions in the appropriate language.
- The final scene shows a "window" listing friends, the entire list consisting of the film's producers.
