For more than thirty years, and through his television program, Fred Rogers (1928-2003), host, producer, writer and pianist, accompanied by his puppets and his many friends, spoke directly to young children about some of life's most important issues.
What's left behind the scenes
- The documentary includes a short clip of a meeting with gorilla Koko, where the gorilla takes the shoes off of Mr. Rogers (1928-2003). No explanation is offered for her actions. It was only after the gorilla’s death in 2018, from obituaries, that it became known that Koko watched Mr. Rogers’ program every day, and she took his shoes off during the meeting because she saw him take his shoes off on the show every day.
