What's left behind the scenes

  • For cinematographer Roger Deakins, 'Time' was the first film shot on a digital camera.
  • Olivia Wilde (Will's mother) is actually 3 years younger than Justin Timberlake (Will).
  • The film's original working title was 'I'm.mortal,' which was later changed to 'Now,' and then to 'In Time.'
  • The cars in the film have exhaust pipes, but their movement is accompanied by a sound typical of electric vehicles. Andrew Niccol previously used a similar technique to depict cars of the future in the film 'Gattaca' (1997).
  • The vehicles in the film do not have license plates.
  • In the bar scene, when the guards enter and show the rising nouveau riche, his sleeves are not rolled up at all – not even his wrists are visible, but when they show a close-up of his "watch" – the sleeve is rolled up almost to the elbow.
  • When the son congratulates his mother on her 50th birthday, he says: "25 for the 25th time." That makes 49. He should have said: "25 for the 26th time."
  • At the end of the film, when Sylvia and Will have their last seconds, after the time is given from the cop's machine, when Sylvia rushes to Will, she can be seen wearing closed black heels. But a few seconds later, she is wearing platform sandals with very high heels.
  • In the final scenes, the guard chases the lovers. When the guard looks at his time, he sees 44 minutes, while Sylvia has 1 hour. At the end of the chase, the difference between them is 2 minutes.
  • According to Amanda Seyfried, the most difficult part of filming this movie was running in high heels. She would have happily taken them off for the corresponding scenes, but she couldn't, as running barefoot on concrete would have been even worse.
  • During filming, Justin Timberlake injured his leg, so filming had to be paused for a week.
  • The initial working title of the film was “I’m.mortal,” which was later changed to “Now,” and then to “In Time.”
