- Initially, the plan was to make a film about a man and a woman, but Miguel Arteta and Alia Shawkat couldn't find anyone to play the lead role. When Laya Costa came to the audition, the script was rewritten to be about two women.
- Filming took 10 days. The second part of the film was shot in real time over 24 hours.
- All the dialogue in the film was improvised.
