Among the number groups that Stem asks Gray to write down is 23.976. This is a reference to the standard frame rate in cinema.
Filming began in March 2017 in Melbourne, the hometown of the film's director, Leigh Whannell, and took 30 days.
During the fight scenes, the camera often tracked Gray's every move. According to the director, actor Logan Marshall-Green had a cell phone with him that was connected to the camera.
