- This film is a remake of "Cactus Flower" – a comedy directed by Gene Saks in 1969, based on the Broadway play by Abe Burrows, which in turn was based on the French play "Fleur de cactus".
- Filming lasted from March 1 to May 2010 and took place in California, as well as Hawaii, USA.
