What's left behind the scenes
- The animatronic characters were operated by puppeteers from The Jim Henson Company. In scenes where the characters don’t move, the puppeteers controlled both the heads and torsos. If the characters walked or danced, the puppeteers remotely controlled only the heads, while stunt doubles in costumes did the rest.
- Even before filming began, several directors and producers changed on the project. It all started in April 2015 with the participation of Warner film company. Roy Lee, David Katzenberg, and Seth Graham-Smith were supposed to be the producers, and Gil Keenan was to be the director and screenwriter. After some time, Keenan left the project. In March 2017, it was announced that it would now be a project of Blumhouse Productions, with Chris Columbus as director and screenwriter. In October 2022, it became known that Columbus would be replaced by Emma Tammi.
- Several directors and producers changed before work on the film even began. It all started in April 2015 with the participation of Warner Bros. Roy Lee, David Katzenberg, and Seth Grahame-Smith were initially slated to be producers, with Gil Kenan as director and screenwriter. Kenan later left the project. In March 2017, it was announced that the project would now be produced by Blumhouse Productions, with Chris Columbus as director and screenwriter. In October 2022, it became known that Emma Tammi would replace Columbus.
