• Preparing for filming in and underwater, Irina Starshenbaum (who played Yulia Lebedeva) began taking diving lessons two months before the start of filming. Her record for continuous time spent in the water during filming is 15 hours.
• The process of applying makeup to Alexander Petrov for the role of Artem – including hair extensions and applying fake tattoos and scars – took no less than 3 hours.
• According to the filmmakers, after the film's release, talk of a sequel didn't even come up initially. The idea only emerged several months later.
• The film was shot by two crews. One consisted of around 200 people, and the other had no fewer than 80. For filming the most complex scenes, the crews were combined, resulting in approximately 450 people on and near the set at the same time.
