- The casting call for the lead role invited candidates regardless of gender – both boys and girls, and those who did not identify as either. Over 500 people aged 14 to 17 showed up for the audition, but none of them could convincingly act and dance well at the same time. Then the filmmakers decided to focus on dancers, and that's how Victor Polster came to their attention.
