What's left behind the scenes
- The film's title is a quote from Tennessee Williams' (1911-1983) play 'A Streetcar Named Desire' (1947). Blanche says that she has “always depended on the kindness of strangers,” alluding to her past as a prostitute. The same words were used by British journalist Kate Adie as the title of her memoirs.
