What's left behind the scenes
- The film’s final and working title (“Morning Bell”) is borrowed from the titles of compositions from the album “Amnesiac” (2001) by the British rock band Radiohead.
- When Benoit Blanc first appears on screen, he is shown in an office where Lieutenant Elliot is interrogating the members of the Thromby family. Blanc presses the same note on the keyboard seemingly at random, however, this order is far from accidental. When Blanc presses the key, Elliot consistently asks the same question: “When did you return home?” – meaning the sound of this note serves as a signal for Elliot to ask the question.
- Daniel Craig borrowed his character's manner of speech from writer, historian, and journalist Shelby Foote.
- For the initial shots, it was required that two dogs run from one trainer to another, but it was impossible to get them to run closer to the camera. Eventually, a small ramp had to be built so that the dogs wouldn't run directly under the camera.
