What's left behind the scenes

  • Michael Landis was invited for a cameo role, playing police officer Tom Burke in the sequel. The actor had already accepted the invitation, but later the producers rejected the script version with that character.
  • Initially, Emma Bell was supposed to be the main character – she was to play the 'clairvoyant' in one of the script versions. But after test shoots, the producers replaced Bell with Nicholas D'Agosto, explaining this decision by the fact that the actress's performance was very similar to Wendy Christensen (the heroine of the third film).
  • Screenwriter Eric Heisserer seriously considered the possibility of a disaster in a location like a water park. But after consulting with the director and producers, the screenwriter prioritized a disaster on a suspension bridge.
  • According to the plot of the film, the Lions Gate Bridge, located in Vancouver, is destroyed.
  • Sam works at an establishment called “Le Cafe Miro 81.” This same Parisian café is shown at the end of James Wan's horror film “Final Destination” (2000). If you reverse the last three letters and numbers of the name, you get 180 – the flight number in the first film of the franchise.

But after test shoots, the producers replaced Bell with Nicholas D'Agosto, explaining this decision by the fact that the actress’s performance was very similar to Wendy Christensen (the heroine of the third installment).
