• As part of preparations for filming, the actresses spent 10 days at a cheerleading training camp to get to know each other better and learn the routines.
• The script is based on the true story of the Sun City Poms (a cheerleading squad for women aged 55 to 88 living in the Sun City retirement community). The group was formed in the 1970s to support the Sun City Saints women's softball team and eventually became a legend in Arizona, performing at parades, various conventions, and sporting events, among other places.
