- While gathering material for the screenplay, Remy Wix was struck by how many immigrants choose Britain based on the fact that it is the country of Charles Dickens (1812-1870), Jane Austen (1775-1817), and the monarchy in general. In reality, for immigrants, it all ends up as gray concrete housing in impoverished areas, which is what he wanted to convey in the film.
