- Filming took place in the village of Nizovskoye near the city of Mosalsk in the Kaluga region. The film's characters also end up there, according to the plot.
- The idea for the film originated with Pavel Abramenkov back in 2013, and work on the script began two years later. In the same year, 2015, the filmmakers, taking a camera with them, began traveling around the Kaluga region, interviewing veterans and collecting material for the film.
