- The classic composition “In The Hall Of The Mountain King” by Edvard Grieg from Henrik Ibsen's play “Peer Gynt” plays during the post-credits scene.
- Johnny English tells Colin that Simon (Agent 1) attended Eton College. In real life, actor Dominic West, who played Simon, actually attended the prestigious school.
- The Rolls Royce Phantom shown in the film is equipped with a 9.0-liter experimental V16 engine. It is, in fact, a very powerful engine that BMW (the owner of Rolls Royce) developed with the intention of using it in the standard version of the Phantom. Three or four engines were made, but ultimately BMW did not implement the idea, and the Phantom was equipped with a “conventional” V12, while the V16s were sent to storage. Rowan Atkinson, however, knew about the existence of the V16 engines. He personally contacted Rolls Royce with a request, if possible, to build a Phantom with a V16 engine for the film. And, of course, Rolls Royce agreed.
- The cat Philby was named after Kim Philby (born Harold Adrian Russell Philby), a member of the Cambridge Five who betrayed his native Great Britain to spy for the USSR.
- In this film, Rowan Atkinson reunited with his colleague from the series “Blackadder” (1982), Tim McInnerny, who played the role of Quartermaine.
- The girl from whom Johnny (Rowan Atkinson) steals a motorcycle helmet during the wheelchair chase scene is his daughter.
- Rosamund Pike plays the assistant to MI-7 agent Johnny English – an obvious parody of James Bond, and she previously starred as an undercover MI-6 operative in the 20th film about the real agent 007 – “Die Another Day” (2002).
- During the discussion of the drug thymoxilin barbiturate, which was used to control people, the structural formula of amobarbital was shown.
- While Johnny is having lunch with Kate at her home, Ambrose knocks on the door. Then, while English hides in Kate's bedroom, she clears everything from the table (leaving only two candles, which Ambrose later blows out). Later, when Johnny leaves the bedroom, the table is fully set again in the frame.
- When Johnny is at a restaurant with Agent 1, he empties his wine glass, and Agent 1 asks the waitress to bring another bottle. In the next shot, there is very little wine poured, but a moment later the glass is a third full.
- When Johnny is parachuting, his tie is pinned by the chest strap. However, in the next shot, the tie flies up and hits him in the face.
- The parachute Johnny uses towards the end of the film changes color when transitioning from a wide shot to a close-up.
- When English arrives at Taker's home, he's playing a racing game on his laptop, but the car's movements in the game don't correspond to his keyboard inputs. When he then gets up to close the curtains and talk to Johnny, the car continues to behave as if under his control. It's clearly just a demo video.
- The wounded Karlenko is placed in the helicopter's back seat. Then, as the helicopter takes off, it's visible that there's no one in the back seat.
- In the scene with Johnny and the Queen, knee pads worn by the stunt double are visible under her stockings.
- When the hitman Kleener (Peak Sen Lim) fires on the golf course, muzzle flash comes from the center of the barrel ring, instead of erupting from the depth of an individual barrel.
- Towards the end of the film, when Johnny English has a spasm, he drops his pistol. For a moment, a "Tokyo Marui," "made in Japan" stamp can be seen. It's a BB gun replica, and it's quite harmless.
- The plotline involving the search for the third link in a spy chain is a reference to the real-life search for the unknown 'fifth' member of the so-called 'Cambridge Five,' a spy ring in Britain during World War II.
