Filming took place at the actual Yankee Pedlar Inn in Torrington, Connecticut. The actors and crew also stayed there during filming.
Filming of the movie took 17 days.
It is claimed that the Yankee Pedlar Inn is genuinely haunted. Some members of the crew complained of experiencing certain inexplicable phenomena while staying at the hotel.
Director Taye West disliked the color of Claire’s inhaler, as portrayed by Sarah Paxton, which the props department had purchased. However, the inhaler contained breath freshener, so it could be used on camera.
In the scene where Pat Healy’s character shows Sarah Paxton’s character a video recording, the actress appears genuinely shocked. Paxton wasn’t acting scared; she was truly frightened because she had never seen the recording before. The scene was filmed in one take. When recording commentary for the film, the actress was shown the recording again, and she flinched once more.
Luke's old underwear, played by Pat Healy, belonged to the actor himself. Shortly before filming began, he lost weight and brought his old undergarments with him. The scene where Sarah Paxton's character wakes up Luke had to be filmed several times because the actress couldn't help but laugh at the sight of Healy in such unpresentable attire.
