Short description
When his young daughter's beloved companion — an android named Yang — malfunctions, Jake searches for a way to repair him. In the process, Jake discovers the life that has been passing in front of him, reconnecting with his wife and daughter across a distance he didn't know was there.
What's left behind the scenes
- Costume designer Arjun Bhasin created costumes for the film that indicated a shift away from synthetic fabrics and a focus on sustainability and the use of renewable materials. None of the costumes contained a single plastic element.
- Judging by some details in the frame, the plot of the film unfolds after a 60-year war between the United States and China.
- The house where the main characters live is based on the works of Joseph Eichler (1900-1974) – an American developer who designed a new type of home with modernist architecture, distinguished by its affordability and functionality.
- Some scenes in the film were inspired by the films "Early Summer" (1951) by Yasujiro Ozu (1903-1963) and "Five Shaolin Masters" (1979) directed by Chang Che (1923-2002).
