Short description
Every six years, an ancient order of jiu-jitsu fighters joins forces to battle a vicious race of alien invaders. But when a celebrated war hero goes down in defeat, the fate of the planet and mankind hangs in the balance.
What's left behind the scenes
- Filming in Cyprus lasted 5 weeks. Nicolas Cage was present on set for only the first three days, but received a fee of $5 million from the film's $25 million budget.
- Nicolas Cage is a big fan of Bruce Lee and had long wanted to star in a martial arts film. In a significant portion of the fight scenes, he was replaced by a stunt double, as he didn’t have time for training and memorizing the movements.
- Director, screenwriter, and producer Dimitri Logothetis initially wanted Bruce Willis to play the role that went to Cage, but Willis was contractually obligated to Moviepass for filming in three films and was unable to participate in the project.
