What's left behind the scenes
- The film is based on real events, but Jessica Koch, the author of the book that served as the literary source for the screenplay, completely changed the setting, dates, and character names. She even used a pseudonym – in reality, Jessica was the name of her dog, and Koch was her maiden name.
- Jessica Koch, the screenwriter and author of the 2016 book on which the film's plot is based, made a brief appearance on screen as a spectator at a kickboxing competition.
