Between Two Worlds

A recognized author named Marianne Winckler moves to the port city of Caen to conduct research for a new book. Hiding her true identity, she passes herself off as a precarious worker and secures a job as a cleaner on a ferry traveling between Ouistreham and Portsmouth. As she experiences the financial instability and invisibility associated with such labor, she forms deep bonds of solidarity and friendship with her colleagues. However, the trust she builds with these women creates a conflict regarding her hidden motives.
