What's left behind the scenes
- Initially, the film was intended for theatrical release, but Paramount Pictures management changed its mind due to the coronavirus pandemic and decided to release the film exclusively on the streaming service Paramount+, making William Eubank's film the only installment in the 'Paranormal Activity' franchise that did not play in theaters.
- Jason Blum, the producer of this film and all elements of the franchise without exception, reacted very negatively to the film and showed no interest in working on further sequels.
- For the first time in the entire franchise, the filmmakers used not only the 'found footage' style in certain moments.
