Short description

After years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts. Their new friend April O'Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.

What's left behind the scenes

Ice Cube agreed to voice the mutant fly named Superfly because he liked the name and because he watches Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoons with his son.
The actors voiced their characters working all together, not individually as is usually done. Up to seven actors were in the recording studio at the same time. Working together allowed the actors to play off each other and improvise.
Originally, Shredder was in the script, but it was decided to remove him from the plot because the director and screenwriter Jeff Rowe wanted the main antagonist to be a mutant who sympathized with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, making it easier to corrupt them.
Initially, Superfly – the main villain of the cartoon – and Baxter Stockman were supposed to be the same character; according to the original idea, Stockman was supposed to mutate into a fly in the film.
In some scenes, Donatello is depicted wearing a JoJo's Bizarre Adventure-style hood from the 2012-2022 series. This detail was added because director Jeff Rowe asked the actors at the outset what anime references they would like to include in the film. The JoJo's reference was suggested by Mika Abbey, who also voiced Donatello.
