What's left behind the scenes

  • The film was created specifically as a call to unite to save the future of our planet. This is why it is distributed free of charge. The rights holders of the film and its distribution (PPR Group and EuropaCorp) also agreed not to use it for commercial purposes.
  • The entire film was shot from a helicopter using a high-resolution Cineflex camera.
  • Over 18 months, the film crew visited 53 countries around the world. In some countries, such as China and Saudi Arabia, the director was denied permission to conduct aerial filming. In India, half of the footage was confiscated, and in Argentina, Artus-Bertrand and his assistants had to spend a week in jail.
  • The creation of the film HOME was preceded by 15 years of work, during which 500,000 photographs were taken in over 100 countries, 3 million books were sold, 100 free open-air exhibitions with over 100 million visitors were held, and 4 documentaries were filmed with an audience of 5 million people.
  • The film premiered on June 5, 2009, on World Environment Day. The film was simultaneously broadcast on major venues in 87 countries around the world in an open, free screening format.
