Short description
United is based on the true story of Manchester United's legendary "Busby Babes", the youngest side ever to win the Football League and the 1958 Munich Air Crash that claimed eight of the their number. The film draws on first-hand interviews with the survivors and their families to tell the inspirational story of a team and community overcoming terrible tragedy.
What's left behind the scenes
- Filming took place in the winter of 2010 and was interrupted by heavy snowfalls. There was no snow only for two days, when the plane crash scene was being filmed, and snow machines had to be used.
- In fact, Duncan Edwards (1936-1958) died after the match against Sheffield. The scriptwriters changed the date of his death to add more drama to the story.
