What's left behind the scenes
- The film's screenplay was inspired by the plots of M. Night Shyamalan’s science fiction thriller 'Unbreakable' (2000) and Gus Van Sant’s sports drama 'Finding Forrester' (2000).
- Makeup artists applied temporary tattoos to many of the film’s characters. Sylvester Stallone (who played Joe) actually had his chest and arms covered in tattoos, which he had to conceal with special makeup.
- The ball the girl is playing with is a reference to the 'Rocky' franchise, where the main character constantly carries a ball with him.
