• This is an adaptation of the graphic novel (2010) by Pierre Lévi and Frédéric Pieters titled “Sandcastle.” Here's what director M. Night Shyamalan said about what prompted him to take on the adaptation: “This book helped me deal with many of my own issues with perceiving the concepts of death and growing up, as well as the aging of my parents.”
• Before filming began, Shyamalan gave the actors and crew two films in the spirit of which he planned to shoot “Time,” according to his own words. These were “Walkabout” (1971) by Nicolas Roeg (1928-2018) and “Picnic at Hanging Rock” (1975) by Peter Weir.
• Filming took place in the Dominican Republic in the fall of 2020.
