• The plot is based on real events.
• The taxi runs on wood gasification, which, due to the lack of gasoline (used for military purposes), was widely used in Europe during World War II.
• After the film's release, the producer announced that it would be re-edited due to complaints from the descendants of the pilot shown firing on civilians.
• In the final months of World War II in Europe, the British Air Force carried out Operation Carthage, which involved an air raid on Copenhagen and a pinpoint bombing of Gestapo headquarters in the city center. The raid destroyed the main Gestapo archive, which contained information about members of the Resistance, but one aircraft from the first wave, flying at low altitude (the entire raid consisted of three waves of attacking aircraft), struck an obstacle and crashed near a Catholic school. Pilots from the second and third waves mistakenly took the smoke rising from the crash site for smoke rising from the original target of the raid, so another ten or so aircraft expended their ammunition of high-explosive and incendiary bombs on the school building, completely destroying it and killing the children inside.
