• The film premiered in France on Friday, July 1st, instead of the usual Wednesday. This was due to the wedding of Prince Albert of Monaco scheduled for that day.
• The very first draft of the screenplay was written by Philippe Meshel, with whom future director Olivier Barrou had worked on a television show on the French channel Canal+. The Pathe studio bought the script and sent it to Olivier Barrou. This was because the authorities of the principality did not grant permission to film in many locations. According to director Olivier Barrou, this turned out to be an advantage, as he was able to recreate his own vision of the Principality of Monaco.
• The Touche family's villa is located in the resort town of Sanary-sur-Mer on the French Riviera. During the time of Charles de Gaulle, it belonged to the French Minister of the Navy.
