What's left behind the scenes
- Idris Elba and the project's director, Jeff Fowler, discussed Knuckles’ voice and manner of speaking for some time. Knuckles is naturally taciturn, always speaking briefly and to the point. Elba initially suggested making his voice squeaky, but the proposal was rejected.
- The film begins by showing Sonic standing on the roof of a high-rise building, looking at the police cars driving below – reminiscent of the “Chaos on City Square” level from the first Sonic the Hedgehog game. The police sirens in the film are practically identical to the sirens in the games.
