An accident occurred on set – actor Alec Baldwin fired a pistol that turned out to be loaded with live ammunition. As a result, cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was killed, and director Joel Souza was wounded.
In November 2021, during filming in New Mexico, one of the lighting technicians, Jason Miller, was bitten by a venomous brown recluse spider while dismantling the set. A few days later, the technician developed sepsis and necrosis of the hand.
The title translates to 'Rust'.
