The film is based on the story by Viktor Pronin "A Woman on Wednesdays" (another title is "It Will Hurt a Little," also published under the title "Voroshilov Shooter," 1995).
The rapists watched the film "Doberman" (1997) after the act.
The courtyard and apartments in the film were shot in Kaluga at 4 Okruzhnaya Street.
The film was shot under the working title "A Woman on Wednesdays," after filming it was changed to "Sicilian Defense," and the film received its current title only after the editing was completed.
Yulia Nachalova also auditioned for the role of Katya.
