What's left behind the scenes

  • Brad Pitt's character states that he has an excellent memory for faces, yet he can't remember the Wolf (played by Bad Bunny). In reality, Pitt suffers from prosopagnosia (a disorder of facial perception in which the ability to recognize familiar faces is lost, but the ability to recognize objects is preserved). The actor revealed in an interview that to recognize a person, he needs to remember the situation and circumstances of their acquaintance – just like his character in this film.
  • According to stunt coordinator Greg Rementer, Brad Pitt performed 95% of his own stunts.
  • During the performance of the stunt, Aaron Taylor-Johnson was injured and fainted.
  • The scene where Lemon, played by Brian Tyree Henry, catches the head of Son, played by Logan Lerman, during a car chase was improvised. To make it more believable, Lerman pretended to be unconscious.
  • Joey King practiced a British accent for three hours a day.
  • Despite their speed, high-speed trains in Japan are characterized by a quiet noise level in the passenger cabin and a smooth ride. This is why they did without a gimbal, which is usually used to show the movement of ships and trains, during filming.
  • Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the film, which takes place in a wide variety of locations, was shot in only two soundstages at a studio in Los Angeles.
  • During a fight in the dining car, a bottle of "Miraval" wine flashes on the screen at the counter. This brand of wine is produced at Brad Pitt's estate in France.
  • Ryan Reynolds' brief, episodic appearance on screen was filmed "remotely" while he was on the set of Sean Levy's 2022 film "The Adam Project." As producer Kelly McCormick jokingly noted, Reynolds was thus "returning the favor" to Pitt, who appeared in a two-second role in David Leitch's "Deadpool 2" in 2018.
  • The scene where Lemon, played by Brian Tyree Henry, catches the Head’s (Logan Lerman) head during a car chase was improvised. Lerman pretended to be unconscious for added realism.
  • High-speed trains in Japan are characterized by low noise levels and smooth running. This is why a gimbal, usually used to show the movement of ships and trains, was not used during filming.
  • Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the film was shot in pavilions at a film studio in Los Angeles.
  • During a fight in the dining car, a bottle of Miraval wine flashes on the screen at the counter. This brand of wine is bottled at Brad Pitt's estate in France.
  • Ryan Reynolds made a cameo appearance on screen remotely while on the set of the film "The Adam Project." As producer Kelly McCormick jokingly noted, Reynolds was returning the favor to Pitt, who appeared in a two-second role in "Deadpool 2."
