What's left behind the scenes

  • The film was a financial failure, which led to the closure of the "Fox Animation" studio from Phoenix, Arizona, headed by Don Bluth and Gary Goldman.
  • A computer game of the same name for "Playstation" was also planned, but the project was later halted.
  • For a preview in Atlanta on June 6, 2000, the film was transmitted in digital format from a Hollywood studio over 3,000 miles to a digital projector in the SuperComm mall’s cinema via the Internet. Everything went very successfully, making this picture the first feature-length film to be publicly screened in this way.
  • The working title of the film was “Planet Ice.”
