Short description
Ishaan Awasthi is an eight-year-old whose world is filled with wonders that no one else seems to appreciate. Colours, fish, dogs, and kites don't seem important to the adults, who are much more interested in things like homework, marks, and neatness. Ishaan cannot seem to get anything right in class; he is then sent to boarding school, where his life changes forever.
What's left behind the scenes
- The administration of the school Darsheel Safary attended strongly objected to him missing classes. Director Aamir Khan personally assured the administration that Safary's absence would not affect his academic performance. He arranged individual tutoring for the boy during filming, which he paid for out of his own pocket.
- Well-known Indian artist Samir Mondal painted three pictures for the film, for which he did not charge Aamir Khan anything. He usually charges between 100,000 and 700,000 rupees per painting, depending on the size of the canvas.
