Short description
After escaping from an Estonian psychiatric facility, Leena Klammer travels to America by impersonating Esther, the missing daughter of a wealthy family. But when her mask starts to slip, she is put against a mother who will protect her family from the murderous “child” at any cost.
What's left behind the scenes
- Some actors of the same height as Isabel Furman had to wear platform shoes during filming so that, in scenes where they appeared next to her, she would look smaller than she actually was.
- One of the reasons for creating this prequel was the decision to 'plug' a plot hole that had been repeatedly criticized and finally explain how 'Esther' got from Estonia to an American orphanage, as it would have been impossible otherwise, even with forged documents.
- According to director William Brent Bell, computer graphics were rarely used in the making of the film, with preference given to makeup, altered perspectives, and the use of stunt doubles.
- At the 18th minute, when Lina is swinging, a police officer in Russian uniform approaches her, although the plot is set in Estonia.
