Short description
A recently widowed man and his two teenage daughters travel to a game reserve in South Africa. However, their journey of healing soon turns into a fight for survival when a bloodthirsty lion starts to stalk them.
What's left behind the scenes
- The animals shown in the film are a product of computer technology, but for one day, director Baltasar Kormákur ordered a real lion to be brought to the set to record its movements for a more realistic depiction of the computer-generated animals. According to Charlto Copley, not everyone was informed about this, and some members of the film crew had to hide in trailers.
- According to Idris Elba, the most difficult scene to film was the fight between his character and the lion. In preparation for the shooting, he repeatedly rewatched Leonardo DiCaprio's performance in 'The Revenant' (2015).
