What's left behind the scenes

  • Paddy Considine's directorial debut.
  • It took only a week to write the screenplay.
  • In one of the early scenes in the film, when Joseph, played by Peter Mullan, is sitting alone in a bar muttering to himself, a voice can be heard off-screen: “Are you alright, Joseph?” The voice belongs to director Paddy Considine. The actor got so into his role and took on such a dejected look that the director simply couldn't restrain himself.
