Short description
October 1918: After returning to the civil life, the young Doctor Giorgino Volli searches for a group of children, which he had been the care-taker of before the first world war began. However, soon the searching becomes a part of hide-and-seek with death. Giorgino finds a village bordered with a treacherous marsh and rumours of wolves. There he also meets the mysterious Catherine....

What's left behind the scenes

  • Filming began in December 1992. In May 1993, editing and the creation of the musical score followed. For this, Laurent Boutonnat returned to the Czech Republic to record music with the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.
  • Hugh Grant turned down the role of Giorgio Volli.
  • Laurent Boutonnat dreamed of making the film as early as 1982. Work on the picture eventually began in 1992 in Slovakia.
  • The sets for 'Georgino' were created by Pierre Guffroy, who had worked with Jean Cocteau himself.
  • While preparing for filming, Mylène Farmer spent a long time observing the behavior of the mentally ill.
  • It took about a year to complete the final edit. The editors had over 10 hours of footage. The version Laurent wanted to release was 4 hours long (with many scenes featuring Mylène). But AMLF, the distributor, asked him to cut another hour to release the film for sale.
  • The sets for "Georgino" were created by Pierre Guffroy, who had worked with Jean Cocteau himself.
