The film's international title is The Battle at Lake Changjin ("The Battle of Chosin Reservoir").
The reservoir is called Jangjin in Korean, but the name with the Japanese transcription has become established in Russian.
Two months after its wide release, the film became the highest-grossing Chinese film and the highest-grossing non-English language film.
Filming took place from October 25, 2020, to May 25, 2021.
Approximately 70,000 soldiers from the People's Liberation Army of China were involved in the filming.
Most of the film was shot in Zhejiang province: at the Meishan railway station in Huzhou and around the Lishimen Reservoir.
Initially, Andrew Lau was appointed as one of the directors, but he was later replaced by Dante Lam.
The international title of the film is The Battle at Lake Changjin ("The Battle at Chosin Reservoir").
