What's left behind the scenes

  • Tilda Swinton’s dog played the role of the Springer Spaniel Louis.
  • The hotel in the film was formerly the home of Rosalind, Julie’s mother. After the end of World War II, due to constantly rising taxes and economic difficulties, private homes in Britain were often converted into hotels like the one shown in the film. An exception to this was the 19th-century ancestral estate of Tilda Swinton, which remained in the ownership of the Swinton family.
