A poster for the film 'Team America: World Police' can be spotted in the film.
The film's soundtrack includes a song by The Fratellis. Another song by the band is also featured on the soundtrack of "Hot Fuzz," starring the same Simon Pegg.
Harish Patel was cast as Mr. Goshdastidar, even though he couldn't ride a scooter at all. Before filming began, the actor took several scooter riding lessons to avoid accidentally running someone over on set.
The original plot of the film took place during a marathon in Los Angeles. When it was decided that the film would be shot by the British, the setting was changed to London. Because the London Marathon was already 'booked' by the crew of another film, the creators of 'Run, Fatboy, Run' used the fictional Nike River Run marathon instead.
When men are featured in scenes with nudity, they traditionally cover their penis with a kind of flesh-colored pouch. The designated pouch wouldn't stay in place for some reason, so the actor playing Whit, Hank Azaria, decided to do without it in the end, but warned director David Schwimmer not to tell Peggy about it. That's why Peggy's expression of astonishment when Azaria remained without a towel was not at all feigned.
