What's left behind the scenes
- Initially, Morten Tyldum was intended to direct, and Alicia Vikander was supposed to star in the film. The project never actually reached the shooting stage, and over time, Tyldum left the project.
- According to director Neil Burger, many scenes were filmed in remote areas of Canada to give the film greater authenticity. Getting to the filming location required using various modes of transport, and it often took the crew and actors over 30 minutes to get there.
