Short description
While flying a routine reconnaissance mission over Bosnia, fighter pilot Chris Burnett photographs something he wasn't supposed to see and gets shot down behind enemy lines, where he must outrun an army led by a ruthless Serbian general. With time running out and a deadly tracker on his trail, Burnett's commanding officer decides to risk his career and launch a renegade rescue mission to save his life.

- The main character of the game 'Grand Theft Auto 4' was based on the image of Serbian sniper Sasha.
- Based on the true story of US Air Force pilot Scott O'Grady, shot down over Bosnia in 1995.
- The sniper rifle used by Sasha is a SIG-Sauer SSG 3000.
- Filming took place in Slovakia, primarily in the village of Haj, in the Slovak Ore Mountains region. After filming, a several-meter-high plastic sculpture depicting an angel, shown as having been shot at by Serbs and with a broken wing in the film's script, was left on the outskirts of the village cemetery.
- The filmmakers were unable to find Serbian actors due to the film's anti-Serbian rhetoric. As a result, the extras playing soldiers were predominantly Croatian actors.
- During the final fight scene between the main characters, Owen Wilson accidentally hit Vladimir Mashkov in the head with a prop gun, causing a cut to his eyebrow. The actor received immediate medical attention, but the impact left a scar.
