What's left behind the scenes
- Kingsley Ben-Adir, who played the lead role, did not immediately agree to work with Reinaldo Marcus Green because he is not of Jamaican descent, and also cannot sing or play the guitar.
- While preparing for the role of Bob Marley, Kingsley Ben-Adir paid particular attention to mimicking the pronunciation typical of Jamaicans. There were 7-8 linguistic experts on set every day. Their efforts were not in vain, and Kingsley Ben-Adir sounds exactly like Bob Marley in the film.
- The film depicts Bob Marley outright refusing treatment upon learning of his illness. In reality, he attempted to use alternative methods to treat cancer, but ultimately passed away. This occurred in 1981.
